Single Visit Crowns, Bridges, Inlays, and Onlays Near You

For many years, the process to receive dental restorations such as crowns, bridges, inlays, and onlays required at least two visits to your dentist. Now, thanks to state-of-the-art CEREC technology, the team at Greg Campbell, DDS, is proud to offer our patients single-visit dental restorations.

What is CEREC?

CEREC stands for Chairside Economical Restorations of Esthetic Ceramic. This advanced dental restoration system is based on cutting-edge technology that uses computer-assisted design and computer-aided manufacturing in order to create your custom-fitted crown, bridge, inlay, or onlay in a single visit.

CEREC uses an intraoral scanning device known as Primescan in order to get a high-resolution image of your teeth that is then used to develop a custom dental restoration in a matter of 4 to 12 minutes.

Crowns and Bridges Using CEREC

At Greg Campbell, DDS, we offer single-visit bridges and single-visit crowns through CEREC technology. These dental restorations offer a solution for teeth that are considerably damaged or decayed but still maintain a viable root.

Just as the name suggests, a bridge is used to fill the gap left by a missing tooth using support from the existing teeth on either side. A crown is a custom-made tooth cap designed to replicate the look and feel of a real tooth.

These detailed dental restorations once required the installation of a temporary device in order to protect the tooth while the permanent fixture was designed—a process that took days to complete—but with CEREC technology, you can have your bridge or crown custom-designed and permanently fixed in your mouth in as little as one hour.

Inlays and Onlays Using CEREC

When a crown is not necessary, but your teeth are still in need of restoration, an inlay or onlay may be the solution for you. These dental restorations are designed to repair partially damaged teeth that still maintain a fair amount of their original structure.

An inlay is used to restore the center of a damaged tooth at times when all of the cusps, or bite surfaces, remain intact, while an onlay can be used to restore one or more cusps.

Inlays and onlays used to be fabricated at an off-site dental lab, requiring two visits for you to receive your restoration. With the introduction of cutting-edge CEREC technology, these inlays and onlays can be created for you on-site in a single visit.
